Chapter One: The Pages Of Scrapbooking Ideas - The happily ever after of once upon a photo...

If I were to name my favorite way of creative expression, scrapbooking would be number one in my book.
Oh what do you know... it is!

Scrapbooking is one of the most inspiring creative outlets.
Turning photos and memories into creative works of art.
For those who have never scrapbooked, I encourage you to try it.
There will be many ideas on here that you can use to start out.

For those of you who are just starting out, maybe you'd like to share with us how scrapbooking got introduced to you.

And for those who are experienced with scrapbooking feel free to share some ideas or projects you have created.

The scrapbooking chapter starts when you click here: To start the page off I shared some ideas in the comment below:

9-22-12 Birthday Title Idea:
Here is a title idea for a kid's Birthday.
I got the inspiration from making a typo in a birthday message I was sending a friend.
Take a close up picture of the cake when the candles are lit.
(maybe if you can get the childs face in it as well, and do that photo editing technique where
you blur the background and focus in on the cake and candles)
And have that picture be in your title between the word Birthday.
Have the "B" on the left of the picture (right next to where the candles start) and then the "i" will be the candles on the cake. Then the "rthday" on the right of the photo right after the candles stop.
If you want just one "i" then just use one of the candles and cover the others with the rest of the title.
I think it would be cool though, if you lined all the candles across the cake so they all show in the picture and when you use all the "i's" it's showing how old the child is.
Also you can do it in type for messages:

                               Happy B _ i_ i_ i_  rthday!

10-21-12   Tips on how to use 2 of the same patterned papers:

It's twice the fun using two instead of one. And sometimes the papers are just too irresistible to get just one!
When using 2 of the same pattered papers for the same layout you can do the following:

The Classic -
Use the 2 pieces of patterned paper on each side of a 2 paged layout.
To draw the eye more change up your embellishments on each side.
For busy patterned papers you can choose to have a border of cardstock on each side
that frames the patterned papers. And then add a foreground cardstock or more settle patterned paper for the photos to go over so the photos don't sink in with the busy patterns.

Mirroring -
If you like to balance out your 2-paged layouts where something on one side is on the other side.
Then having 2 of the same patterns to cut out is perfect for that.
Let's say there is a pretty scroll in the corner. If you want that to be put on the left top corner of your left side layout page, and another scroll
to be on the bottom right corner of your right side layout page then you have your two to cut out.
Or you can use both your papers as your background and turn the one on the left side so the scroll is at the corner you want. (e.g- top left hand corner)
Then with the paper on the right turn it so the scroll is at the corner you want (e.g - bottom right hand corner)

Pop Up Pattern Overlapping -
This is perfect for those patterned papers that are very busy and vibrant.
Use one of the patterned papers as a back ground. Put your chosen mattes/photos down.
For whatever they cover of the pattern on the paper you can cut that pattern in that area out on your other paper and pop it on where those areas are. So you can choose to place your mattes/photos in places where you want to embellish over it on the edges with the cut out patterns.
For instance if you are doing a Halloween layout and your patterned paper has a bunch of pumpkins on it.
Lay a matte/photo on, near a bottom corner of the paper covering some of the pumpkins on that same bottom corner of the photo.
So you can still see them peek out a little from behind.
Then cut out those same pumpkins on the other paper and pop them on.
If you want the 3-D effect use foam tape or thicker glue dots.
I always like to pop a big pattern out with a thin piece of foam tape, then double it up to pop
out an overlapping smaller pattern out more.
